The earliest confirmed online Negros Oriental meeting record currently preserved in this project is an archived AA Philippines Visayas meeting directory captured on September 29, 2013. That record lists AA meetings in Dumaguete City and Valencia, Negros Oriental.

By September 29, 2013, AA meetings were publicly listed in Dumaguete City and Valencia, Negros Oriental, in an archived AA Philippines Visayas meeting directory.

The archived records currently preserved show meeting-location references in Dumaguete City, Valencia, Siaton, Dauin, and Talay, with additional later references to Bacong and Dauin from a separate 2021 public online review.

These records do not prove when AA first began in Dumaguete. They do prove that AA meetings in Dumaguete City and Valencia were publicly listed online by September 29, 2013.

2013 — Redemptorist Church Meeting Recalled as Beginning

The source recalled that another meeting began around 2013 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Church in Dumaguete.
The meeting was remembered as being held in a meditation room beside the main church building.
The September 29, 2013 archived AA Philippines meeting directory lists a Sunday meeting at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Church and describes the location as being on the left side of the church.
Further research is needed to confirm whether the meditation-room meeting remembered by the source was the same meeting preserved in the September 29, 2013 directory.

Current Research Note: A former local member recalls that meetings were already operating in Dumaguete and Valencia in 2012. The downtown gathering was held at 2nd Floor Cafe Rene and later continued at Bethel Guest House. The site author independently confirms attending the Cafe Rene meeting on April 17, 2014 and recalls that the venue later closed, requiring the meeting to move. Why This History Matters

Preserving early Dumaguete AA history is not about nostalgia. It helps show that people have been finding help, starting again, and keeping meetings visible in Dumaguete for many years.
