Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. Many people visit this website because they are looking for help with a drinking problem and do not want that search to become public. DumagueteAA.org exists to help people find local AA meeting information, newcomer guidance, visitor information, convention updates, and recovery-related resources while respecting personal privacy and anonymity. Local AA information. Independent. Unofficial. Helpful.

DumagueteAA.org does not publish AA membership lists, meeting attendance records, recovery histories, subscriber identities, private messages, or personal information identifying someone as an AA member. This website exists to help people find information, not to create public records about people seeking help.

DumagueteAA.org is independent, unofficial, and helpful. This website is not affiliated with, approved by, endorsed by, operated by, or officially connected with Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc., AA.org, any AA service office, any AA intergroup, any AA area assembly, or any AA group unless specifically stated in writing.

Privacy Questions Newcomers Often Have

Will this website tell anyone I am looking for AA meetings?

No. DumagueteAA.org does not publish visitor names, search activity, email inquiries, subscriber identities, or private messages. Looking for meeting information here does not create an AA membership record or a public attendance record.

Do I have to give my name to use this website?

No. You can read meeting information, newcomer guidance, visitor information, and public updates without giving your name.

What if I email the website?

Email is voluntary. You do not need to explain your drinking history. If all you need is current meeting information, you can simply ask for that.

Does contacting this website mean I am an AA member?

No. Contacting this website, subscribing to updates, asking a question, or looking at meeting information does not make you an AA member and does not create an AA membership record.

Why does privacy matter so much here?

A newcomer is often not ready for anyone else to know they are looking for help. That is normal. Many of us worried about being found out before we could even admit the problem clearly to ourselves. This page is written for that person first.

Privacy and Anonymity

Anonymity matters. A person should be able to look for meeting information without feeling exposed, watched, or turned into a public example. DumagueteAA.org is built to help people find AA information without creating public records of AA membership, meeting attendance, personal recovery status, or participation in Alcoholics Anonymous.

This website does not track who attends meetings and does not maintain AA membership records. Visitors are encouraged to use personal discretion when sharing information online, by email, by text message, through newsletter subscriptions, through contact forms, optional shop orders, or through any voluntary communication with this website.

If you contact this website, subscribe to updates, or later use an optional shop feature, that information is treated as website communication or website activity. It is not treated as AA membership information, meeting attendance information, or proof that you are part of Alcoholics Anonymous.

People have different comfort levels with anonymity. Some people speak openly about their recovery. A newcomer often does not. This website is written with the newcomer in mind: the person who is looking for a meeting, nervous about being seen, and not ready for their search to become public.

Anonymity within Alcoholics Anonymous is the responsibility of each individual member and each autonomous AA group. This website does not manage, enforce, supervise, or monitor anonymity practices for any meeting, event, convention, participant, organizer, customer, vendor, or third-party platform.

Meeting Autonomy

All Alcoholics Anonymous meetings listed on this website are autonomous. Each meeting is governed solely by its own group conscience.

DumagueteAA.org does not govern, manage, supervise, organize, endorse, coordinate, standardize, or influence any meeting’s format, leadership, finances, readings, practices, or decisions.

The listing of a meeting on this website does not imply affiliation, oversight, approval, sponsorship, endorsement, or authority by this website, AA.org, Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, or any other AA group or service body.

Events and Convention Information

From time to time, this website may publish general information regarding Alcoholics Anonymous conventions, workshops, speaker meetings, fellowship gatherings, recovery-related events, and community announcements.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, DumagueteAA.org functions only as an informational resource. Publication of event information does not imply ownership, governance, management, sponsorship, control, endorsement, approval, or operational responsibility by this website.

Questions regarding a specific event, convention, registration, payment, sponsorship opportunity, venue, accommodation, transportation arrangement, speaker schedule, merchandise, or event operation should be directed to the organizers, committees, service bodies, venues, vendors, platforms, or sponsors responsible for that event.

Scope of Website Function

DumagueteAA.org functions primarily as an informational directory and communication resource. It is not an Alcoholics Anonymous group, committee, service body, intergroup, governing entity, commerce operator for AA, or official representative of Alcoholics Anonymous.

This website does not speak for Alcoholics Anonymous as a whole and does not represent AA World Services, AA.org, regional service structures, local service entities, convention committees, Shopify, payment processors, vendors, or any meeting listed on this website.

Subscribers may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link provided in email communications or by contacting the site administrator at hello@dumagueteaa.org.

Merchandise, Shopify Store, and Optional Purchases

DumagueteAA.org may, in the future, include an optional Shopify-powered shop or merchandise section, including possible convention-related shirts, souvenirs, printed items, or website-support items.

Any shop or merchandise section will be separate from AA membership, AA meeting attendance, convention registration, and participation in Alcoholics Anonymous. No purchase is required to attend AA meetings, receive AA information, subscribe to updates, contact this website, or participate in Alcoholics Anonymous.

Unless specifically confirmed in writing by the responsible organizers, any merchandise shown on DumagueteAA.org should be understood as unofficial and not as official AA merchandise, official AA World Services merchandise, or official convention merchandise.

If a Shopify store or other shop section is added, order information, payment processing, fulfillment, shipping, refunds, taxes, and related services may be handled by independent third-party platforms such as Shopify, payment processors, print providers, fulfillment providers, or shipping providers. Those services may collect information necessary to process orders and are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

Shop or merchandise activity does not create AA membership, meeting attendance records, convention registration, sponsorship, endorsement, or any official relationship with Alcoholics Anonymous. Optional purchases are commercial transactions with the applicable store, platform, processor, vendor, or fulfillment provider.

Payments and Third-Party Services

DumagueteAA.org does not store credit card numbers, banking information, or payment credentials.

If optional merchandise, website-support purchases, event-related purchases, or other payment-enabled features are added in the future, payment processing will be handled by independent third-party payment processors or commerce platforms, including Shopify or other providers if used. DumagueteAA.org is not responsible for the privacy practices, security practices, policies, or operations of those third-party services.

AA membership has no dues or fees. Website support, merchandise, or optional purchases are separate from AA membership and are never required to attend AA meetings.

Cookies, Analytics, and Technical Records

DumagueteAA.org does not use visitor information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or recovery-status profiling.

Standard website software, hosting providers, security systems, email services, analytics tools, payment processors, commerce platforms, Shopify apps, and WordPress plugins may create limited technical records necessary for website operation, security, spam prevention, subscription management, order processing, payment processing, fraud prevention, or service reliability.

Where analytics are used, they are intended to understand general website performance, search visibility, page usage, technical issues, and public information needs. Analytics are not intended to identify AA members, track meeting attendance, or determine whether a visitor has a drinking problem.

Voluntary Contact

Any contact made through this website is voluntary. Information is provided only to share publicly available meeting information, respond to direct requests, provide requested communications, process optional shop-related activity if commerce features are added, or support website operations.

No obligation, sponsorship, representation, endorsement, membership, purchase requirement, or continuing relationship is created by contacting this website.

If you are nervous about contacting the website, you do not have to explain your drinking history. You can simply ask for current meeting information.

This website may include links to external AA resources, event websites, accommodation providers, mapping services, Shopify or other commerce platforms, payment processors, fulfillment providers, travel resources, or recovery-related resources for convenience.

DumagueteAA.org has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, policies, practices, availability, products, services, privacy policies, or operations of external websites or third-party platforms.

Links to AA.org or other AA-related websites are provided only for visitor convenience and do not imply affiliation, endorsement, approval, or official status.
